Mental Stimulation is a HUGE part of the puzzle. When you keep your dogs mind stimulated, they will continually look to YOU for direction. They will also look to you for their outlet.... instead of that bird or squirrel or smell.
Don't let the world be your dogs outlet. Build an amazing bond with them by letting them figure out what they should do next to get their reward/pay cheque.

If your dog already knows how to touch with their paws... advance it!
TEACHING RIGHT AND LEFT PAW
To teach your dog to touch their Right and Left paws separately it is easy. (Make sure your dog has a solid paw touch first). If you use the word "Paw" (for an example). You will break it down for them and ONLY mark (with "yes" or "good") and reward for the correct paw. RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING.... You need to decide if "Right" means their right paw, or your right. So keep that in mind. Make sure one is solid before you move to the next.
So for example, have the object in front of you and say: "RIGHT __________(Insert what ever word you use for paw touch). Mark and Reward when they touch the object with the correct paw.
