Mantrailing & Urban Tracking

Training Dogs to find people for fun!

Mantrailing & Urban Tracking have been around for hundreds of years!

Dogs learn to use their nose to seek out environmental changes and an individual's scent also known as 'skin rafts'.

As we go about our daily routines, skin cells (along with other microscopic debris) are constantly being shed from our bodies. This debris contains minute portions of skin cells, hygiene products, bacteria, fungi, parasites, sweat, hormones, and enzymes. They are unique to each individual human. Even two identical twins have different skin rafts/scents.

The dog starts by sniffing an article that the person has touched.

They then follow the trail of scent to locate the specific person!

This is a fun activity that all dogs can participate in!

All dogs must start with the Intro to Mantrailing Course and then you can continue to learn with our weekly Mantrailing Progression Sessions, Specific Skill Sessions and Urban Tracking Sessions. These classes run rain or shine.

PLEASE NOTE!! THIS IS A SPIN-OFF OF OUR MANTRAILING/FUN TRACKING CLASSES THAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE 2008!! We decided to move forward with a levelled/graded approach because we wanted to be able to provide our clients with something fun to do with their dogs on a regular basis.

⚠️ DISCLOSURE: We are NOT training operational dogs! ⚠️
